elsie's fingers

i first heard about this recipe from a Facebook comment thread between cousins and aunts reminiscing about Nanna Brodie's baking delights. I posted this so that Reese my 7yr old can have a go at it as she's really into baking at the moment.

115g butter
85g sugar (you will need extra sugar to roll dough in)
2 cups self raising flour
1 egg

  1. Beat the butter and sugar together
  2. Add egg and self raising flour
  3. roll small pieces of the dough between your hands to create a finger-like shape.
  4. roll in the extra sugar and put on cold tray
  5. bake at 180•C for about 8 minutes or until the ends become golden
